Luke AFB. 56 Communication Squadron - Provides voice, data & video services. Installs, upgrades, replaces, configures & maintains systems/circuits/IP-based intrusion detection systems that access military, Federal & commercial networks. Manages infrastructure devices & systems using the latest approved software tools. Deploys & operates expeditionary communications systems. Uses agile logistics support channels to sustain continuous network operations. Removes, repairs & replaces assemblies & sub assemblies to optimally sustain voice, data & video networks. Establishes priorities, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, & repairs voice & network systems equipment & circuits utilizing tools & test equipment. Isolates malfunctions using diagnostic software, technical data, block diagrams, voltage & waveform measurements, & other tests requiring specialized test equipment. Monitors performance of systems & circuits. Coordinates with coalition forces, DoD agencies & other service providers to analyze & isolate performance faults & implement corrective actions. Checks equipment for serviceability & performs preventive maintenance. Isolates faults by coordinating with commercial service providers & depots to test system components & assemblies. Maintains & administers voice, network & circuit databases, records & forms. Interprets sketches & layout drawings for placement of distribution systems. Coordinates request for service orders. Reviews, recommends, & implements changes to communications-computer systems installations records (CSIR), technical data, engineering drawings, & equipment wiring diagrams. Updates & verifies entries on system, facility, maintenance, & inspection records. Initiates, tracks, & maintains shipping, receiving, supply, & equipment documents. Conducts periodic inspections of systems installations & repair activities. Interprets inspection reports & implements corrective actions, documents inspection & maintenance actions.
