Establishing a new training and development function for a wealth management and stockbroking firm with locations across the UK. RD is a part of St. James's Place Wealth Management.This role covers the full spectrum of L&D practice, from design and delivery to digital development and LMS administration to consultancy and strategy. I manage the team responsible for administering the LMS and developing our e-learning solutions. Alongside overseeing the provision of professional qualifications required for SM&CR certificated roles, I also manage the provision of apprenticeships to support key roles in the business. I have also grown and deepened our relationships with key providers, including the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, our sector professional body.I have extended the role to drive the development of our intranet (as it is the primary open source of retained knowledge in the business, it's essential for learning) and lead on internal communications, distributed via the intranet, email, videos and newsletters.I'm part of the broader People programme delivery also, supporting HR colleagues whenever they need it, particularly with technology, for example introducing online holiday booking, survey tools and Microsoft Teams adoption.

The eLearning Network is a UK-based not-for-profit representing all sides of the elearning industry. It based on the principles of knowledge, advice and collaboration and it is run by the eLearning community for the eLearning community.

Following the acquisition of Friends Life by Aviva, I became part of a small HR team supporting colleagues across Aviva with change management and learning delivery. I provided expert resource on digital learning initiatives as well as designing and developing elearning content for a variety of projects, including group wide mandatory programmes. I also returned to face to face training as a facilitator for a small number of company wide training programmes.I worked with Articulate Storyline 2, Mohive, Cornerstone on Demand LMS as well as broader technologies such as video and audio.

Part of a small team supporting colleagues across Friends Life group, in the UK and International. We design and develop all mandatory learning provision in-house, as well as managing our LMS, part of the SuccessFactors suite. Since starting at FL, we have shifted our focus from reactive order takers to proactive consultancy. We have reimagined the way we create our compliance elearning, moving toward outcome focused learning experiences and scenario-based assessments. We have also developed better assessment tools to be used as diagnostic tools for identifying gaps before we plug them.I advise colleagues in operational support teams on how to develop online support resources as part of our commitment to help Friends Life to improve, innovate and inspire.
