As a trans-masculine immigrant from Guadalajara, Jalisco, I bring a unique perspective to my work in DEI consulting. Currently pursuing Ethnic, Gender & Disability Studies in Salt Lake City, Utah, I'm passionate about creative problem-solving and committed to making a difference in any role I take on.I am a community health worker with Alliance Community Services, serving as a Covid Equity and Health Literacy program supervisor in partnership with the Salt Lake County Health Department, where I focus on outreach and navigation. Additionally, I serve as the Ambassador and Vice Chair for the Board of Directors for Utah's LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce.My journey in leadership and community building began with community-facing organizing in Salt Lake City, which led me to an internship opportunity later Special Projects role for Salt Lake County's Mayor's Office of Diversity and Inclusion. In that role, I honed my program management skills, collaborating with the Council on Diversity Affairs to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Rising Leaders Network - an initiative to enhance leadership, civic, and professional development opportunities for underrepresented as well as undeserved communities.Through my work with Alliance Community Services and the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, I've gained experience consulting on DEI issues and assessing social determinants of health. My diverse experiences have strengthened my skills in professionalism, strategic leadership, and outside-the-box thinking, and have helped me better understand cultural, historic, institutional, systemic, and social barriers.I'm committed to intentionally leading, combining my knowledge and understanding of DEI issues with my experience in community organizing, program management, and consulting.
