I managed the Call for tender process to outsource 2 of the main products of Curtis to local suppliers (350 custom fabricated parts both in stainless 304 and T6061 aluminum) also QA process and fabrication process and production of sample doors. Curtis was an automated door manufacturer for Bombardier trains worldwide. Management of all NCR and parts having to be either corrected of redone. Collaboration with engineering and QA. Management of parts subcontracting (upholstered goods, frames and molded pieces, tempered glass and mirrors, wood turnings). Plan interpretation. Supervision of all families of purchasing for the plant (maintenance, hardware, veneer, HPL, solid wood, exotic wood, packaging). Working in close collaboration with Design, Engineering and Sales. Purchasing Director, Saint-Damase Furniture (Designer created custom hospitality furniture 4,5 stars) Research and conception for custom furniture projects. Generation of detailed bids for 250 custom furniture projects per year. Management of subcontractors (metal structures of all kinds, upholstered goods, exotic veneer, custom fabricated wood components, tempered glass and mirrors, etc…) Interpretation of schematics and drawings and translation into easy to understand CFTs to suppliers. Management of plant’s Network. Supervise buyer, clerk and store keeper. In charge of QA and also HSE. Close collaboration with bidding and engineering dept. Research and evaluation of new suppliers. Maintenance/ engineering buyer / store keeper, Emballages Knowlton (LEK) (KDC)) cGMPKDC-LEK pharmaceutical manufacturer. Products include ( BAN clearstick, Clairol Infusium, Cepacol, Aqua Velva , Keri Lotion, Hélène Curtis, used to do Excedrin caplets too) In brief, hundreds of well known products. I am store keeper and buyer for the maintenance/engineering dept of the plant(2 people on day, 2 on evenings and 1 on graveyard). I have to negociate pricing and supply contracts with more than 150 suppliers (Canada, USA, Europe) in order to maintain 22 production lines fully operational, fortunately I have the help of an experienced co-worker and great collaboration from all of the professional maintenance team. I must also obtain best conditions for tooling, machinery, pneumatic componenents, electrical and mechanical parts, plombing, welding supplies, abrasives, machine shop cutting tools, safety supplies, etc… Tasks also include sheet metal purchasing, composite materials( UHWM, Teflon, Lexan, Delrin, neoprene, silicone, urethane, etc…) stainless tubing, sanitary pump and pump parts. All of this to serve 3 electricians, 40 mecanics/electromenanics, 3 welders, 3 plumbers, 8 machine shop guys. Special projects as well as custom part fabrication are a weekly thing at KDC-LEK. Warranty follow-up sub-contracting are also part of the scope. My #1 project when I first started was to computerize the store, by bringing electronic inventory control (18000 active parts), electronic POs, and preventive maintenance. I successfully conceived the database as well as the logic behind the programs. This was done in collaboration with the IT group who wrote the code for AS/400 (RPG 400) This system after having been tested, implemented and used with success for maintenance, was extended to the rest of the Purchasing team (8 buyers for bottles, labels, chemicals, boxes, etc…) and integrated with the ERP. Dice, sort and pick operator, Gold wire bonder process controller, QC, IBM Canada Bromont. ISO 9001, 9002 (2 temporary contracts of 9 months each, no possibility of permanent work)DSP (Dice, sort and pick sector) being relatively new at IBM in Bromont offered many opportunities. One was being able to use my programming skills. A well put together program and, good knowledge of the picker I was operating allowed a reduction of the overall cycle time in the department by 25% (I was awarded a certificate of achievement for this accomplishment). I also had the privilege to write an operations / programming manual that was used to certify other employees for this task, as well as the MPS being used for ISO certification. Complex programming on Cognex Vision System used to pick out of norm micro-processors and other memory products (RFID, and rectangular RAM products). Participation in pilot projects for major clients (ATI, SGS Thomson, Cyrix, LSI, VLSI, etc). 1st job at IBM was process controller on 5 gold wirebonder machines (304 gold wire connections on 0.187 sq inch). Process control by sampling of micro chips being connected to lead frame by gold wirebond, through microscope inspections, and dimensional measurements. Every products as thight norms to meet, yield needs to exceed 98.5%. (PQFP process). Identify non-conformities and rework if possible (less than 50 microns spacing between gold wire). Working in close collaboration with wirebond operator. Inspection and approval of initial lot test run. Certified for QC inspection for all 3 process Gold wire bonding QC, Dicing of micro chips from 8’’ wafer process (back then only 8inches wafer) Working in special Mosel Vitelic memory project to resolve manufacturing challenges as well as a pilot project on RFID.

QC Technician, Hyundai Auto Canada Bromont (plant closed down)Mechanical, functional as well as electrical inspection of completed vehicles from the assy line. Dispatch vehicles to the different repair department depending on the type of problem found. QC Testing of Sonatas on private road track, to evaluate real life condition of sample vehicles. Detailed daily reporting of problems found on vehicles and feedback to the different teams assembling on the line. Pareto analysis to determine where emphasis should be put on. Investigate and report on situations reducing yield. Control the effectiveness of repairs by different teams and either approve or reject. Train new QC test line employees. Conception of Sonata quality control manuel (what is supposed to be checked, how, the specs and tolerances, etc…) Conceiving and programming of software used to track, report every condition being found on the vehicles and, automation of reporting and feedback to the different production teams.
