Software EngineerPart of the core engineering team working on the Contribute web content management and collaboration system, as well as on the Contribute publishing system, a web publishing server. My principal duties included working with all major J2EE servers, major LDAP servers, as part of an effort to automate all server side testing. Developed web services based notification mechanism and sample clients, which allowed the web publishing server to send notifications to administrative clients. This increased the customers’ ability to maintain and archive their web site(s) modifications.Instrumental in creating a development, staging, and production environment of a wide variety of J2EE, Web, LDAP, and ActiveDirectory server.

Worked as part of the IT organization which was responsible for creating, maintaining, and constantly improving the Cisco.com web site. Our core team purpose was to develop a metadata framework, which served as the core engine for the data driven site, as well as developing tools that allowed other teams in the company responsible for displaying information on the website, to retrieve, store, and modify data in our framework. We also played a strongly analytical role, dealing with a wide range of client adapters.

Contributed to the overall quality of release of our product, the MeetingPlace server. Worked as part of the Product Quality group where we performed manual testing and developed test automation to assure a quality release. Performed a wide range of manual testing tasks, including VUI (Voice User Interface) testing as part of regression testing on each milestone release as well as working with, configuring, and troubleshooting telephony equipment, including spans, blades, and T1 as well as E1 ports.Lead and revamped the automated testing approach, developing highly flexible and efficient automation test the SNMP features of MeetingPlace server, including trap generation and basic SNMP features, as well as server CLI testing, including regression testing and writing of Expect/Tcl scripts to automate the process and Abacus scripts, developing a mass stress-testing environment.Designing and implementing test plans for mission critical projects.

Participated in numerous projects, working with development and quality assurance groups.Wrote and maintained WinRunner TSL (Test Script Language) automation scripts. In addition to this, with regards to test automation, I was also assigned to run these scripts for regression, BATS, and smoke tests.LAN and VLAN configuration using IOS (Internetwork Operating System) commands on Cisco series routers, switches, IP Phones, and Call Managers.Was part of a development team, which created a library of test automation helper functions and tools. The library included Oracle 9.0 Server, SQL, C++, Java, Perl, and TSL helper functions, as well as bash shell scripts for a RedHat Linux system.Was an integral part of a four person development team which built a Java based Test Executioner tool called TestCafe, as well as a network simulation tool, with a Swing UI and a Java and C back end.
