I interned in the insurance department of a large actuarial consulting practice, where I worked primarily on Lloyd’s of London SCRs for syndicates.I gained experience testing internal models for validation, both qualitative and quantitative, using proprietary R scripts and advanced Excel models. Undertook extensive analysis of SFCRs from top insurers for reporting in company external publications. I worked across the company to help develop a climate-risk dashboard for insurers, using actuarial techniques to quantify risk and assess the climate risk of their insureds.Proactively sought out opportunities within the investment consulting team to help better understand market and related risks when dealing with validation reports.

Worked as a Research Assistant for an Associate Professor of Political Economy. Assisted on a research paper investigating the changing fintech landscape and its effect on retail banking in the UK post covid. Conducted review of popular media, government reports and academic literature to build timeline of developments in UK fintech.Producing high-level summaries of reports and data from leading sources, as well as leveraging and growing professional network to engage with those working in the field.

Worked as a research assistant for Dr Carol Cosgrove-Sacks, Honorary Professor at the College of Europe. Conducted research on matters relating to EU digitalisation, foreign policy, cybersecurity, and external trade. Gained experience with directives, briefings, and legislation from EU institutions.Engaged with senior stakeholders to maintain relationships important to further presentation and publication.Produced a presentation of our findings to be delivered to students, senior academics and visiting diplomats at the College of Europe in February 2023, titled: “The EU, Digitalisation & Global Impact”.
