I am leading our global Finance team and key business partners through a multi-year business transformation project from our store support center in Vancouver.

I lead teams in Vancouver, Burnaby, Sumner, Columbus, and Melbourne in managing and improving inventory accuracy at our corporate-owned DCs, 3PL facilities and global fleet of stores.

Sitting between Finance and the Distribution Centre & Store Operations'​ Teams, I play a role in improving inventory accuracy across lululemon's global supply chain. I oversee a team of 18 people between the 3 North American Distribution Centres and Store Support Center, with a focus on warehouse inventory controls. Other responsibilities include process improvement within the inventory control group, and project support for company initiatives as they relate to inventory accuracy and control.

Our eco-luxury apparel is made of premium materials that are sourced responsibly. We focus on minimizing our carbon footprint by keeping our supply chain as local as possible. Our fashion lines are knit, dyed and manufactured in Canada within a 100km radius. Where possible we use environmentally preferable materials such as bamboo and organic cotton.My role:As Founder and Director of Operations I wear a lot of hats. I manage the production process for our own brand garment production, including maintaining relationships with knitting mills and manufacturers. I manage relationships and orders with the affiliate brands we promote on our website. As a Manager in the sustainability consulting practice, I managed project work for two clients across multiple projects.For a global energy company, we provided independent research and recommendations regarding promising business models for low carbon energy services in urban settings. As project manager, I managed the day-to-day project work and provided direction for a staff consultant and a panel of industry experts to keep the project on track. I participated in over a dozen interviews with senior representatives of various smart grid companies, utilities and pilot projects in North America and Europe and used these insights to capture key elements of business models. For a global luxury hotel chain, I managed several projects to expand the client's sustainability program. With help from my project team and client representatives, we created a waste management program, water management program, charity program and guidance documents for the recently implemented sustainability data management system. Additionally, I held a Q&A session with property engineers to respond to questions about the new waste and water programs - most of the questions were around establishing approaches to collect water use and waste data where previously none had been collected.

Assisted a large public company in the transportation industry to write its biennial sustainability report using GRI 3.1 guidelines at the application level B. This report had a much expanded scope in terms of data presented and indicators covered compared to the client's prior report. Wrote report content, presented data in charts and graphs and sketched infographics for the first draft of the report. Created a course on finance and accounting for the benefit of non-financial team members to help identify opportunities for alignment of sustainability initiatives and financial decision making on team projects. Managed the course development process for a course on sustainability for business developers at a global engineering firm. This involved coordinating activities of a working group comprised of Sustainability Managers and Directors from the UK, Australia, Canada and the US. Wrote sections of the course related to client and prospective client research on sustainability goals and objectives.

I meet regularly with a young entrepreneur in Toronto to help him articulate his business goals, manage his finances and provide moral support in the first two years of his venture.

Acting Manager for the review of a branch within the Ministry of Community and Social Services. Facilitated over 10 client interviews and workshops with Ministry Managers and Directors. Determined current state organizational structure and identified areas for improvement. Clarified branch mandate based on workshop insight and benchmarks through primary research of other jurisdictions.Developed an implementation guide for the Ministry of Education and all 72 Ontario school boards to adopt new requirements from a public sector expense policy directive. Managed the project, including two presentations to the project working committee, meeting all internal and client milestones on budget. Ontario Minister of Education, Laurel Broten, publicly endorsed this report. For York University, assisted in the facilitation of over 20 stakeholder workshops and interviews in both the Finance and IT work streams of a major reengineering project. These two work streams identified hard and soft dollar cost savings in excess of $3M through improved budgeting, travel & expense processes and IT governance.For an Ontario school board, conducted an operational review to identify areas of process inefficiency within the annual budgeting process. Designed a budgeting strategy, process maps, timeline and mock-up of a new budgeting intranet tool for the school board.For an Ontario school board, led the process reviews for the finance, facilities, IT and procurement functions. Work included a detailed analysis of two years of procurement data for 50 schools and recommendations for future cost savings.Drafted three winning proposals for Ontario government agencies with total fees in excess of $250,000.Other experience includes research and a comprehensive report on straight-through processing and the barriers to electronic payments in Canada through interviews and third-party research with Canadian banks and corporations and representatives from eight international jurisdictions.

Worked on a number of audit engagements in the real estate, retail, and not-for-profit industry groups to provide a high-level of assurance to stakeholders over the reasonability of client financial statements.For a large, international meat & dairy trading company, I established the cut-off inventory balance and adjusting entries through a detailed financial and shipping contract analysis of shipments leaving near year-end. For a large Canadian clothing retailer, established the financial analysis and testing process to determine validity over the annual rent expense of a portfolio of over 300 stores with a variety of lease types including step rents and percentage rents.Assessed reasonability of client financial statement items including appropriateness of classification through comparison to generally accepted accounting principles. Drafted accounting memorandums for contentious account balances to document professional opinions and expert consultation. Analyzed trends over income statement items to determine reasonability of year-over-year fluctuations at the financial statement line item and general ledger account level.Prepared the first draft of tax returns for a Toronto car dealership group to assist PwC’s tax group. Provided advice on financial accounting and internal controls as part of clients’ year-end audits of financial statements.Led teams of junior staff members in conducting field work and was the main point of contact for client senior management, PwC managers and PwC’s word processing department.

Provided direction and oversight for Canada's largest undergraduate business plan competition. Led a team of 16 peers to secure sponsorship (budget of $60,000), attract student competitors from around the world, and find keynote speakers and a judging panel comprised of established entrepreneurs and professionals from across Canada.
