Dr. Daniel Selling is the owner/director of the Williamsburg Therapy Group in Williamsburg and Greenpoint Brooklyn. He is a licensed psychologist who provides empowering solutions to individuals, couples, and families. In addition, Dr. Selling served as the Executive Director of Mental Health for the NYC Jail system and Director of Substance Abuse Treatment. In that role he oversaw the provision of mental health care for approximately 3500 patients on Rikers Island and the outer borough jails and directed and developed substance abuse programming and oversaw the nations largest methadone program.Dr. Selling’s therapeutic model for couples blends traditional components of counseling andCognitive Behavioral Therapy with an innovative, Family-Systems approach that is active,present, and focused on the nuances of communication and intimacy in relationships.He encourages couples to face their challenges head-on while exploring opportunities for individual growth as well as mutual understanding and nurturing.Dr. Selling also has wide-ranging experience diagnosing and successfully treating Anxiety and Depression through a synthesis of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused therapeutic perspectives. A large focus of his work is focused on substance abuse treatment, trauma, and dependency issues.Prior to founding the Williamsburg Therapy Group, Dr. Selling served as the Executive Director of Mental Health and Director of Substance Abuse Treatment for the New York City jail system. He maintained a private practice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and was a member of the city’s Cognitive Health Group. In addition, Dr. Selling is an expert in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health Disability.
