I am a captioner at VITAC, a leading provider of accessible media solutions for over 30 years. I have been working in this role since March 2023, subtitling and respeaking pre-recorded content for various media platforms and content providers.Before joining VITAC, I was a subtitler at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group for 1.5 years, where I worked on projects for Sky, Discovery, ITV, and UKTV. I am proficient in using Dragon Naturally Speaking, Wincaps Quantum, EZTitles, Ooona Tools, and other subtitling software and tools. I have a BA in Political Science and Government from The University of Sheffield, which has helped me develop critical thinking and research skills, as well as an interest in current affairs and global issues.Additionally, I have over three years of experience as an event catering business owner and operator, specializing in music and food festivals, street food events, and private and corporate functions. I managed all aspects of the business, from budgeting and sourcing to training and marketing. I leveraged social media channels and content strategies to build a brand, spread awareness, and secure new opportunities to trade. I also dealt with the challenges of running a customer-facing business during the COVID-19 pandemic, adapting to the changing health and safety regulations and business environments.My goal is to use my skills to engage with a diverse range of people and audiences, to work nimbly and collaboratively. I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies, and to link-up with other professionals in the industry. I value creativity, accuracy, discretion, and customer satisfaction in my work.
