As the technology leader for Foot Locker's global unified commerce channels, I am fortunate to oversee a team of hundreds of technologists worldwide, predominantly software engineers, architects, and supporting functions. Our mission is to create seamless, memorable consumer experiences across digital and physical touchpoints -- "phygital", even -- encompassing 30 digital storefronts, 10 mobile applications, and 2,500 brick-and-mortar locations. My role involves enabling our various Product Teams to innovate and excel in delivering these integrated, omni-channel experiences.We harness a diverse array of technologies to achieve these goals, including bespoke MACH microservices built with Java Spring Boot, custom-built ReactJS front-ends, Swift, Kotlin, and a variety of COTS and SaaS solutions like Oracle Xstore, Oracle Crowdtwist, Adobe Experience Manager, and Fastly. Led digital technology strategies and implementations for B2C and B2B, as well as established an Enterprise Integration COE practice.On the Enterprise Integration front, implemented and maintained Google Apigee and Mulesoft, then later pivoted to Azure API Gateway and associated Microsoft-based integration tooling. This allowed a standardization of tooling, cataloging, management, and governance for software integration, as well as decoupled our implementations for flexibility and speed to market. Designed and implemented many RESTful and event-driven solutions to give our business resiliency.On the digital front, implemented and maintained Salesforce Commerce Cloud which helped grow the digital business over 10X, as well as many COTS, SAAS, and custom extensions to meet business needs around payment, fraud, search, and heightened experiences. As the IT leader for BetterTrades and its subsidiaries, I directed comprehensive IT management, development, support, and procurement efforts. I collaborated closely with my team and business executives to develop and maintain a forward-thinking IT vision, aligning seamlessly with our corporate objectives to drive sustainable growth and efficiency.On the delivery side, we brought to bear several key projects, including completing the development of proprietary e-commerce and CRM platforms using Microsoft .NET, the implementation of an Asterisk-based PBX system to enhance customer care, and the rollout of scalable collaboration solutions utilizing Cisco and Citrix technologies. I also ensured continuous PCI compliance for our Payment Gateway systems managed through Authorize.Net. All these efforts were intended to reduce technology complexity and cost, driving portability.In parallel with delivery and simplification, the engagement included managing the IT aspects of a merger and acquisition process, which culminated in the successful sale of the company in 2016. This involved strategic oversight and integration of IT systems to meet rigorous due diligence and integration requirements, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of operations.
