I develop, plan, and implement First Year Experience (FYE) programming in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience. My main projects include:+ The Buckeye Book Community - Our common reading experience for incoming students+ President's Convocation- Our academic welcome to the entire first year class+ The Connections Team- A group of second year students who help to engage the first year class with the university through programming and mentorship+ The Buckeye Leadership Connection- A one day leadership based conference in Cincinnati and Cleveland that hosts incoming students from those areas to learn about themselves and connect with successful alumni from their hometown.+ Other projects from our office include Orientation, the Distinguished Speaker Series, our Camp Buckeye Program, our First Year Success Series, Buckeyes Beyond Ohio, Transfer Student Advisory Board.

Designed, planned, and implemented programming for these two scholars groups at Ohio State. Specific responsibilities included:+ Developing a first year seminar class for both programs that would facilitate the student transition to the Ohio State experience+ Advising the leadership council for the Arts Scholars program + Advising trips to New York and Chicago, in addition to a service based trip to Indianapolis+ Recruiting interested students through presenting and individual meetings

~Give campus tours to high school students interested in Miami University

-Supervised program of 60+ high school rising seniors taking part in a 6 week educational live-in program at Miami University-Programmed for students-Led all-hall meetings as well as staff meetings-Supervised staff of 5 undergraduate staff members

~Develop community amongst 26 first year men~Facilitate educational, social and cultural programs~Perform rounds to connect with residents and enforce University policies~Have 1:1 conversations with my residents helping them transition in their first year~Create bulletin boards dealing with issues relevant to students

~Help shape the syllabus of the class~Create guiding reading questions for students and grade their answers~Help lead class discussions~Help students plan programs in their residence hall

~Recruited orientation leaders of 2008~Supervised interviewing and hiring process~Supervised and mentored orientation leaders through the summer

~Facilitated small groups of 12-15 first year students at summer orientation~Wrote and performed vignettes dealing with college issues~Was a resource for all family members and students coming to Miami
