About Daniel Sobral
I have experience with both low-level programming, such as operating systems, and script programming, such as in system administration. I'm good at optimizing and very good at debugging code. I know many languages of all sorts, from low level languages such as 8-bits processors' assembler and machine language to languages such as APL, Lisp and Prolog. I don't even keep score any more... whatever language one needs, I can learn it fast. As far as programming goes, I have experience with corporate systems, system administration scripts, academic research (algorithms, proofs) and as a FreeBSD committer.More recently, I have become very involved with the Scala language, with contributions to the library in the form of enhancements and bug fixes, as well as extensive contributions to its documentation efforts.On the software project side, I have experience with ITIL, UML, function point analysis and project management.I also have both academic and professional experience with information security, IP networks and networking protocols.Specialties: Open Software, Free Software, FreeBSD, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, Project Management, Debugging, Forth, C, Perl, Shell, Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, BSD, Unix
