Senior Vice President, Head Of Projects And New Business, Asia
Senior Vice President, Asia It Project Manager
Director, It Development And Project Manager
Overseeing a number of key projects I held responsibility for making strategic decisions and coordinating key projects, also highlighting future strategic objectives and policies for discussions, decisions and ratification. My duties included playing a pivotal role in the managing of IT projects from inception to completion and ensuring the continual availability of systems, services and data. I was heavily involved in recruiting and building project teams, directing tasks to a multi-disciplined team of workers and third party providers and, where necessary, providing technical guidance and training to non-technical workers. Liaising and negotiating with senior management and customers to set expectations and to ensure service provision meets business needs and complies with corporate policy and procedure, was a daily part of my role. The people management responsibilities that I had included directing a team of 15 developers in Hong Kong who were responsible for all changes and releases to front office, middle office and back office systems in Asia. One of my major tasks was streamlining and consolidating systems, troubleshooting problems, implementing approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events. I held instrumental accountability for continuously reviewing deliverables to assure quality and approve any changes required.
Vice President, Front Office It Development Manager
In my role as VP – Development Manager I played a senior role leading a team of 8 developers in Hong Kong and India; I was required to steer all aspects of changes and releases to front office equity systems in Asia. Making use of my outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, I liaised and negotiated with Fidessa, TCS and other connected parties for all technical deliveries and management of on-site consultants.I achieved at a high level in this role, in particular I was recognised for acting as the key representative for the group as the lead developer and technical architect for a greenfield Fidessa OMS implementation project. This project successfully replaced the existing in-house cash equities system and globalised the Hong Kong entity to be on the same platform as Japan and UK.
Associate, Fidessa (Fo) Project Team
This was a position where I was required to perform a multi-function role in a number of projects as a manager, developer and technical architect.Among my achievements in this role, I proficiently formulated and delivered new workflow for the Hong Kong facilitation desk resulting in easier facilitation of client orders and preparing for the Fidessa PMAC (position management) implementation.
Professional, Trade Floor Support And Fidessa Project Team
In this role I gave support to Fidessa on-site in Tokyo, Korea, Taiwan and New York, I also worked in New York for 5 weeks to develop US Fidessa changes. I was responsible for orchestrating and facilitating the training and coaching of personnel on the Fidessa system.I was able to achieve success through re-engineering the generation of key end of day reports, reducing the production time from over 1.5 hours to a few seconds via simple FTW GUI right click option.
