Key Responsibilities;• Ensure RMS meets its statutory obligations in responding to development consent authorities under the requirements of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Roads Act in respect to land use plans, development applications and proposals by adhering to timeframes. • Ensure land use development does not compromise network safety or efficiency by imposing reasonable upgrade requirements upon development or alternatively obtaining appropriate agreements and/or contributions. • Liaising and negotiating with RMS staff, State Government - transport, environment and planning agencies, council officers and public and private organisations. • Assist the land use development unit in managing the design and construction of private developer works by assisting in the project management. • Provide advice and assist in the preparation of risk assessments and Traffic Management Plans (TMP) (e.g. Restricted vehicle access route analysis)

Key Responsibilities;• Prepare strategic, concept and detail design drawings in accordance with Austroads, RMS and Australian Standards utilising Bentley MX & Microstation CAD software. • Maintain a high standard of verbal and written communication skills during liaison with clients, project stakeholders, various contractors, community members and construction staff stemming from technical and non-technical engineering backgrounds. • Attend community consultations. • Mentor junior design staff. • Successfully complete hydraulic analyses and practice erosion and sedimentation control techniques. • Organise and analyse traffic data/information (e.g. crash history, traffic counts; volumes and models, SIDRA modelling, noise study surveys). • Understand, evaluate and mitigate environmental and sociological impacts caused by a road design improvement or new construction.• Prepare a comprehensive schedule of rates (quantities) in accordance with RMS QA Specifications.• Road safety auditing – participating in and completing road safety audits.Projects;• HW1 Princes Highway – Gerringong Upgrade & Foxground to Berry Bypass – Design review• MR51 Canberra Avenue - Noise Walls Queanbeyan - Designer• MR51 Kings Highway - Nelligen Bridge Realignment - Designer• MR95 Picton Road – Road Widening for Provision of Central Median Barrier - Designer• MR260 Old Hume Hwy and Braemar Rd – Junction Improvement for Traffic Signal Installation - Designer
