Formally mentored two graduate students and three undergraduate students over five years. Carried out a bioinformatic analysis to identify candidate transcription factors regulating inhibitory neuron specification. Cloned and analyzed the expression of six candidate genes. Developed a multicolor RNA FISH protocol for colocalization analysis in embryos using two-photon and confocal microscopy, and an HPLC protocol for quantifying neurotransmitters in explants.Work culminated in a co-first-author publication.
