Fields of Interest: Business Management | Startup Management| Public Policy| GeoPolitics| History | Philosophy and PsychologySchool Life: Came to the University of Oregon on an exchange program from Singapore Management University in my Junior year and I loved it so much that I decided to transfer full time. I wanted to embrace the American style of education which embraces creativity & critical thinking, as well as pursue my love of study in Entrepreneurship and public policy, to which i have finally attained as of Dec, 2021! Achievements: My college life in the U of O was truly a blessing for me as it pushed me outside my comfort zone in doing many things that I previously thought was challenging and simply way out of my depth. These include: - Successfully Lobbying Oregon State Legislators in increasing their higher education budget by $200 mil so as to defray increasing education costs for low income students- Creating a Stipend model that fund student groups in a more equitable manner, basing it on student engagement and community impact as compared to how charismatic and persuasive the student leaders are. - Collaborating with over 210 student groups and departments, in developing customised budgets for student groups with a budget of $18 million. - Organizing over 30 career workshops for international students due to the difficulty in securing gainful employment for foreign students. (These efforts led to over 50 international students securing employment in the States)Work Experience: In Sweden, I had the amazing opportunity to work with the largest co-networking space provider and in doing so, learnt a lot in how the start-up world operates. Being in such a confined space with over 40 start-ups, you get to learn a lot about the start-up ecosystem, funding process as well as the passion and challenges, many entrepreneurs face throughout their journey.
