I've successfully led the Finance area for Ovation Medical, a leading designer, manufacturer & distributor of orthopedic braces and supports. My accomplishments have been:1) I implemented a financial reporting and budget system that allowed the Company to quickly adjust and pivot to PPE during the pandemic.2) I created and provided the CEO with routine, auditor-reviewed financials and analysis, including inventory/supply chain reports.3) I improved internal control structure by creating a daily cash reconciliation process.

I directed all financial activities for John Aaroe Group, a high-end residential real estate firm with 300 agents and 6 offices on LA's Westside and San Fernando/San Gabriel Valleys. My accomplishments included:1) I established financial reporting routines, including various forecasts and office-specific reports. This enabled Management to identify and monitor key metrics in a real-time basis.2) I collaborated directly with affiliate partners to more efficiently provide one-stop real estate closing services. resulting in achieving a 20% increase in capture rates.

I established the Finance Department for Ovation Medical, a start-up designer, manufacturer & distributor of orthopedic braces and supports. Additionally, I co-managed the Company warehousing function. My major accomplishments included:1) I built cost-accounting protocols associated with manufacturing and procurement processes. This allowed to more accurately measure COGS associated with international (Asia) suppliers, including foreign exchange transactions.2) I implemented specific internal control processes in the areas of A/P, Cash and Payroll. These processes resulted in reducing month-end close from an average of 15 days to 10..3) I recruited, trained and developed a Warehouse Manager in order to delegate responsibilities in a growing enterprise. The core staff is still in place today and staffing levels increased modestly during rapid growth, due to efficiencies created.

I was a consultant "Your Company's Best Financial Resource" for various clients, utilizing my experience and abilities to add value and improve organizational effectiveness and profitability, while mitigating risk and exposure.My major accomplishment was successfully navigating EOY reporting and providing bank reconciliations and other reports necessary for tax and individual reporting.

I directed all aspects of financial organization for Glen Oaks Escrow, a small, diverse, multiple-location private company. My major accomplishments were:1) I streamlined existing processes to improve and accelerate financials preparation/distribution. I did this by creating account analysis routines and subledgers on key balance sheet accounts.2) I collaborated with management to develop analytic and modeling tools to better forecast and manage production down to the unit level. This allowed management to better control staffing levels in a proactive manner.

I built independent finance groups (General Accounting/Trust Accounting) and captained them through various business growth cycles/system conversions and, ultimately, a Company acquisition. My major accomplishments were:1) I led the Finance team's system conversion from the Alpha Micro legacy accounting platform to iClosings and Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics while handling 50+ large bank trust accounts with $500MM+ in average daily balances.2) I streamlined the monthly closing and reporting procedures, cutting process from 15 days to 3 days, while creating strategic reporting routines that allowed for informed management decisions.3) I successfully led the financial and due diligence aspect of joint venture/acquisition opportunities as well as the financial portion of the Investment Banker Road Show, resulting in successful outcomes (acquired C-21 Award, Stoneridge Escrow & Golden Escrow, sold Southland to LandAmerica Financial, maximizing shareholder value).4) I strategically-managed Southland's $35MM+ Corporate short-term investment portfolio, consisting primarily of cash/marketable securities (corporate bonds, commercial paper, CD's, money funds) resulting in 500+ bps improvement in yield/investment earnings.
