Investigated a novel approach to highly boosted Higgs to bb ̅ tagging as part of an ATLAS search for Vector-Like Quarks. Wrote scripts executed on a Compute Canada cluster to optimize the tagging method and characterize its efficiencies and background rejections against real and simulated data.

- Implemented an algorithm that uses machine learning techniques to automatically and dynamically examine the similarities and differences in text responses submitted by users of the app.- Worked as a full stack developer on a variety of production features relating to authentication, SMS integration, translation, and testing.

- Analysed the sequence of interactions a user has with the Thoughtexchange app. Employed clustering to automatically group users based off their in-app behaviour, and discover different common use patterns.- Created a variety of interactive visualizations with D3.js to help inform app development.

- Analysed spectra taken with the TIGRESS gamma-ray detector array in order to measure nuclear energy levels populated in Coulomb excitation experiments and evaluate nuclear structure.- Created scripts in ROOT to conduct high-accuracy energy and efficiency calibrations for the detector. - Tested components for the SPICE electron spectrometer and assisted with the maintenance and upgrades of the detector.

- Taught a semi-weekly lab section for a UBC computer science course on logic circuits and symbolic logic. - Marked exams and weekly assignments, and answered students’ questions in the lab and on an online forum.
