I am CEO of CYPFER, a global market leader in cyber-extortion and ransomware post-breach remediation and cyber-attack first response. My friends, family, and colleagues like to say that I eat and breathe everything cybersecurity. Throughout my 20-year career in cyber security, I have seen it all. From small businesses to large corporations, no one is safe from hackers — even those who think they are! My experience spans multiple industries and locations throughout North America as well as Europe, where public safety requires that companies be on their toes at all times when dealing with sensitive data or information systems like ERP Systems (enterprise resource planning).I’ve consulted for both private sector organizations like nonprofits & charities, which often do not possess adequate resources for combating digital intrusions, while also working closely alongside government agencies during criminal investigations involving national security implications—from incident response through evidentiary analysis trial preparation stage.Cytelligence was acquired by AON, a global $12 billion financial services business. Upon completion of that transaction, I became president of AON Cyber Solutions. Digital Wyzdom was acquired by Telus, a $13 billion telecommunications firm, and there I moved into the leadership role responsible for the Forensics, Threat Vulnerability Audit, Governance and Compliance, and Cyber Investigations divisions.I’m a member of several influential industry groups, including, The Information System Audit Control Association (ISACA), The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, The International High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), and am an Advisor to the Board of The Society for the Policing of Cyberspace (POLCYB).Making sure the business world is prepared and can properly respond to the bad guys is a reason why The Financial Post, The Globe and Mail, The Lawyers Weekly, The Law Times, CTV, CBC, CityTV, Global Television, BNN, and Bloomberg have interviewed me. I enjoy speaking at security conferences, law schools, and bar associations across the United States and Canada.
