Living in Utah, one of the most popular hiking destinations is Mount Timpanogos. At an elevation of 11, 752 ft, a 14-mile round-trip, and almost a mile of elevation gain, Mount Timpanogos may not be Mount Everest, but it isn't exactly a walk in the park. Considering myself to be in decent shape, I decided to hike what thousands of people have done before.Several hours into the hike, I realized that I wore the wrong shoes, packed too much gear, and underestimated the length of 14 miles. As boy scouts and grandparents passed by me on the trail, I refused to give up. After all, if they could do it, surely I could? Eventually, in spite of the physical exhaustion, chafing, and knees that felt like they would explode with every step, I completed the hike. I guess that is me, if I say I’ll do something, I do it.In all of my roles I strive to utilize my work ethic and determination in accomplishing my goals. As a leader, I do not care about who gets credit. I care about my team succeeding.At the end of the day it's about the people next to you, and that's it.
