In the late 90's, early 00's I was doing concert booking and promoting for independent musicians and bands. I established a lot of relationships with phenomenally talented people who had no passion for the business and marketing side of music, so I established Bottle Imp to help. Over the last 15+ years I've helped a number of amazing artists push into the industry a little bit, helped establish relationships and release some amazing records. I published digital albums, CDs, vinyl records, etc. I help artists connect with one another for remixes, design projects and booking opportunities. In some cases I do the actual design work and photography. In some ways Bottle Imp is a business venture but it is 90% a passion project.

I plan and design product requirements and iterations along with development production road maps and specifications. I use customer feedback and user studies, along with heavy data analysis, to recommend the most efficient and profitable items to move forward with. Working with a small team, I also contribute to User Experience Design and some hands-on front-end User Interface design.I succeed in this role because of the empathy I have for customers, which is rooted in a deep technical support background. I like to discuss things with customers to understand what they like and what frustrates them.I also work with marketing teams across fitness chains to help integrate their data for marketing automation and consult on marketing content and messaging. Key Accomplishments:Redesigned the user flow in a way that increased company profitability multiplicatively. Designed key data integrations that have been launched across dozens of major fitness chains.Designed a customer support model that minimizes support costs and keeps customer friction to a minimum.

In circa 2002 I met Sifu Owen Matson. At the time he was looking to start a Ving Tsun Kung Fu training group. With my material arts background I was eager to give a try. My training was off and on but I always supported the effort 100%. In 2006, Sifu Matson took the training group and established a brick and mortar business with a location in Detroit's Eastern Market. I jumped in and helped put together a basic informational website. I pushed them to the top of target keyword SEO by way of content development and photography. I helped establish social media presence and ongoing practices. I helped cultivate the online branding by way of leveraging existing brand colors and logo concepts.I have since passed on the design but I still help the team in an advisory capacity and provide hosting and technical support. I help their current team with user flow and site structure recommendations.

Leveraging my extensive technical knowledge and customer support background, I worked with Ernst & Young’s National Help Desk to develop and design support documentation. I took problems faced at the first level help desk and worked with Ernst & Young’s management team to establish best practices and author documents and flow charts that made sense to first level agents.

Worked as phone support and hardware deployment for The Handleman Company's sales team. I was SME for their proprietary inventory management application, and the hardware deployment builds, as well as managing the hardware inventory. I also managed the knowledge base for the call center, authoring articles for phone support agents.

Worked as artist relation manager for the Industrial Revolutions stage at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, or “Movement” as it was called in 2003 and 2004.As a small team, we coordinated a full, three day roster of over 25 bands inside one of the largest free music festivals this side of the globe, with an over-all weekend attendance peaking at potential 1 million people. Most of the artists were local but we also coordinated a few international acts as headlines and major crowd draws. We also released a compilation CD to help fund the event.

Provided hands-on support for Mopar's 5300 Suggested Stock Order program. I worked directly with the dealership's parts department managers to help them utilize Mopar's proprietary inventory forecasting application. This required me to also do critical user research simultaneously to pass on feedback to the development team for product enhancement. I was an SME for SSO's forecasting algorithms, and I was able to break down the higher-level technical concepts to nontechnical parts department managers.
