I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2018 as a Combat Engineer. During this time, I worked with construction, Engineer Reconnaissance, and Route Area Clearance. I became proficient in my job and took on many leadership roles. In 2021 I became a squad leader in preparation for a deployment. This taught me the importance of knowing your colleagues and the ability to delegate. Just before separating from the United States Marine Corps, I was tasked with creating a course for my battalion that was usually outsourced by contractors. On short notice I was able to create the course and teach the first class within a month. Showing my ability to think critically and problem solve on a tight timeline. I was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal for the course and my accomplishments.Within 6 months of separating from the United States Marine Corps in May 2022, I started attending Auburn University Harbert College of Business for a major in Business administration. I adjusted to school quickly and made the Dean's list for spring of 2023 and fall of 2023. I recently Just declared a dual major by adding Pre-Building Science. I am on track to join the Building Science professional program for the College of Architecture, Design and Construction in spring of 2025. I am not afraid of hard work and see obstacles as opportunities. In the future I plan on getting a job in Construction Management and look forward to solving problems in the construction management industry.
