I spent two years in Brazil spending time with my family and improving my Portuguese. During this time I did some freelance consulting in the baking industry, gave private English lessons to Brazilian learners, and built the import export operations for Poli Service, a family-owned Trading Company in Itaperuna, RJ, Brazil with services in the construction and dairy industries. During this time I also backpacked Europe on two occasions!

$2.5 million in capital equipment sales credit per year, with over 50% being new accounts. Credit equaled approx. 30% of company-wide annual sales. Performed all stages of the sales process from prospecting to qualifying leads, product demonstrations to quotes and negotiations. Closed deals in English, Portuguese, and Spanish-speaking settings from cold calls to coordinating and executing product demonstrations.Managed projects and marketing plans for several product-classes and industry sectors.Developed relationships with key distributors and accounts across 15 states, representing 1/3 of the nationwide customers.

Delivered over 50 presentations to undergraduates from colleges in the U.S., United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland on topics including leadership, recruitment, philanthropy, scholarship, and budgeting. Traveled more than 35,000 miles, meeting with university administrators, organization representatives and undergraduate members overseeing operations at 14 college chapters.

Elected leader of over 2,500 students, 46 chapters, 10 executive officers and the largestfraternity community in the world.Frequent communications with media outlets and stakeholders in the university andcommunity. Collaborated with the three Greek councils and the Council of Lionhearts tocreate the Community Coalition to strategically address the mutual issues of the student bodyand permanent residents of State College.Developed and instituted a plan to combat dangerous drinking and promote responsiblebehavior on State Patty’s day that resulted in the fewest risk management violationsever recorded on that day. Worked in close collaboration with the Chief of Police, andcommunity members.

Participated in assessment and stewardship calls with donor prospects in westernPennsylvania. Wrote and coordinated the mailing of 40+ personalized thank you notes to presenters, donors,and benefactors of the internship program.

Created and managed a $250,000 budget, 15 officers and chairmen, and 46 members and won the second highest award for outstanding chapters at the Zeta Psi international convention in 2009. Enforced risk management policies from the Interfraternity Council, FIPG insurance policy, and the Borough of State College at the 34-resident chapter house. Led the chapter in raising $40,000 for pediatric cancer research through mailings and four fundraising trips.
