This is mainly because we still opt for a treatment that works for the majority of people suffering from the same form of cancer and which is not geared towards the needs of the individual patient. The Center for Personalized Cancer Treatment (CPCT) is trying to change this by analyzing the genetic material of the tumor at the start of the course of treatment, so that each patient may be offered tailor-made medical care.
