Worked as the primary clinician for a new clinic and was tasked with managing staff and growing the clinic’s reputation, patient caseload, and reimbursement potential. Worked with and managed physical therapy assistants, techs, and office support staff to deliver highly skilled/effective patient care. Evaluate patients with highly skilled musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and differential diagnosis techniques in order to establish a plan of care for treatment.· Listen to patient needs/concerns and clearly explain injuries, treatment modalities, and expected rehabilitation outcomes in understandable terms and utilizing anatomical pictures and diagrams for increased patient comprehension and compliance.· Utilized highly skilled manual therapy techniques including soft tissue and joint mobilization, as well as dry needling, for pain alleviation and improved function.· Consulted patients on various medical concerns with respect to PT scope of practice and gave professional recommendations for interprofessional communication with other providers when necessary.

Worked with Physicians, Radiologists, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Radiology Technicians to coordinate patient transportation and transfers for services including MRIs, CTimaging/procedures, Radiographs, Fluoroscopy imaging/procedures, Dialysis, General bed mobility, and car transfers at time of discharge. Daily tasks included:· Transporting patients via bed or wheelchair to their ordered tests/procedures.· Working with other medical providers to coordinate efficient timing of patient load.· Assisting healthcare team with correct patient positioning for imaging/procedures.· Proper filing and handling of patient charts.· Use of electronic check in/out system to report patient’s location while out of their room.· Communication with ICU, ER, and Floor Nurses about patient’s status prior to patient transportation.· Management of necessary medical lines/tubes/pumps

I worked as a team member with physical therapists, technicians, and medical staff members to deliver the highest quality rehabilitation treatment to a broad range of patients including pediatrics, seniors, sports injuries, trauma, and post-operative patients. I achieved recognition as one of the highest qualified technicians, based on education, training, and experience. Some of my contributions in this role include: • Optimize quality of care and clinical outcomes by guiding patients through exercise routines and other treatment modalities prescribed by the physical therapist or physical therapy associate. • Maintain on-going communication with therapists to fulfill any required patient support responsibilities and facilitate patient flow through the clinic for as many as 28 patients per day. • Utilize a variety of treatment modalities, including ESTIM, heat/cold, resistive ROM therapy, hydrotherapy, and stretching/strengthening exercises. • Listen to patient needs/concerns and clearly explain injuries, treatment modalities, and expected rehabilitation outcomes in understandable terms.

Along with the experience listed in the above Physical Therapy Technician role at Summit Medical Group, I taught swimming lessons and providing personal training services to members at Tennova Health & Fitness Center. This has involved evaluating each client’s needs and developing individualized fitness programs to ensure achievement of swim training, cardiovascular, strength, fitness, or weight loss goals for up to 40 clients per week. My responsibilities include: • Build and maintain a base of loyal clients through sales skills, referrals from satisfied clients, relationship-building, and personalized service; increased swim lesson sales 66% in first quarter. • Worked with numerous special needs clients, assisting them in overcoming fear of the water. • Discuss any specific health conditions or injuries with clients and create fitness training, exercise, or swimming programs that are both safe and effective.

This was a great opportunity for me to work under the supervision of a PhD in Cardiac Rehabilitation who was the Team Leader of Cardiac Services to ensure the delivery of high quality rehab services. During this time, I: • Performed multiple outpatient duties including measuring/recording patient’s blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen blood saturation; monitored heart rhythms via EKG strip and assisted in administering prescribed plan of care. • Assisted with inpatient services by updating inpatient lists with daily physician orders, reviewing each patient’s medical history/procedures prior to consults, and advising patients on procedures and postoperative precautions. • Assisted post-surgical cardiovascular patients with initial ambulation while also recording heart rate, oxygen blood saturation, and progress/improvements in their recovery. • Maintained accurate documentation of patient services in the electronic medical record system.

I provided rehabilitation treatments at this physical therapy facility that included guiding patients through prescribed routines, scheduling follow-up visits, and working closely with physical therapy staff to prepare patients for treatment and facilitate patient flow through the clinic. I also gained experience with the insurance and billing process including gathering/uploading insurance information into online computer portal, verifying insurance coverage for services, and processing insurance/patient payments.
