As a Codecademy Ready mentor I guide cohorts of ~75 students through an 8-week front-end web development primer. The position includes conducting live-coding seminars on Git, command line (Cygwin and Terminal), Bootstrap, Sass, JavaScript basics, jQuery, AJAX and AWS. Additionally, I tutor students 1-on-1 to take a closer look at key concepts, as well as hosting daily "office hours" sessions.

I have taken on a number of roles within Codecademy as an independent contractor. I authored interactive courses in Git and CSS, and wrote support curriculum on subjects such as JavaScript, Ruby and Sass. I also wrote unit tests using Codecademy's custom testing API (Ruby, Expect.js and regular expressions), and built eight webpages from mockups using CSS Flexbox and Bootstrap. I have also supported Codecademy's hiring team by conducting over a hundred technical interviews. In this role, I help design interview questions in Ruby, JavaScript, Java, Python, Rails and Angular, then carry out interviews to help build Codecademy's Pro Advisor team.

At reLI I led an organization-wide rebranding, which included creation of a new website through NationBuilder and the creation of outreach tools. I also served as the team's NationBuilder specialist and managed digital communications. Additionally I implemented outreach campaigns and managed volunteers for our "Join the 100% Renewable Energy Movement" program.

At New Settlement's Bronx Helpers, I educated middle and high school students in the areas of civic engagement, food justice/sustainability and pedestrian safety, and developed original curriculum to implement to the groups. I also researched, wrote and edited grant proposals to leverage program funding. In addition, I collaborated with staff, volunteers and youth to coordinate and host community meetings to address social issues facing the Bronx such as food access and traffic safety.

As a Public Allies apprentice, part of a group of forty of New York City's future nonprofit and community leaders, I supplemented my work as an after-school educator by training weekly in workshops on nonprofit capacity building, public policy, maximizing nonprofit impact, and assets-based community development. In addition, I attended panel discussions and conversed with current leaders in the private, public, nonprofit and social entrepreneurial sectors to learn different aspects of economic development, education and civic engagement in New York City.
