Performed the duties of the Public Information Officer (PIO) by working directly with journalists, writing and issuing press releases, ensuring consistent messaging across the organization, and maintaining the City’s website and 11 social media platforms. Communicated with residents to ensure speedy resolution of inquiries, concerns, and other matters.Directly oversaw the affairs of Human Resources, Information Technology, and Communications. Represented the City as the chief negotiator for five collective bargaining units including police, fire, and civilian unions. City Council’s selection strengthened coverage, reduced risk exposure, and is likely to result in an estimated savings of up to $1.5 million.

Converted City recreation center into 24-hour facility leading to increased membership and revenues by $150,000 annually. Won a $610,000 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant through the Ohio Department of Transportation to construct a two-mile multi-use trail that connects many assets within the City. Used data to guide allocation of resources and to reinforce City Council’s policy objectives. Conducted Parks & Recreation focus groups with community members. Represented the City and successfully negotiated favorable returns relating to rates for single stream curbside recycling and residential trash collection in the Solid Waste Management District Plan. Created three successful replacement property tax levy campaigns, passed each ballot issue. Executed a blight abatement program resulting in removal of 45 junk vehicles on private properties throughout town and the razing of three dilapidated residences. Researched legal framework, verified support of the public, drafted legislation, and received adoption by City Council. Administered electric and gas utility aggregation requests for proposals for all City facilities resulting in savings of $225,000. Developed strategy for and received approval from City Council to implement two permissive license plate taxes for street paving. Successfully navigated a similar process and increased the Lodging Tax, which City Council dedicated to placemaking and economic development initiatives.
