This role has given me the opportunity to have a wider impact upon the quality of teaching in our school.Part of this role has meant taking on the responsibility of mentoring an ECT. I have enjoyed guiding their development by drawing on my own experiences and engaging with research.Another aspect of this role is to work with other members of staff to support and improve their classroom practice. This entails conducting classroom observations of other teachers, signposting them to research and strong practitioners, as well as working alongside them to identify strategies that will improve the impact they have upon their pupils.

My role as Maths Lead includes maintaining and developing Mathematics across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. This role has allowed me to contribute to the monitoring, moderation and evaluation of Maths at Talbot Primary School.One of my focuses in the 22-23 academic year has been improving Class Teachers’ approach to utilising manipulatives in their teaching. This has seen me take on extensive research into the subject as well as lead CPD opportunities at the school.I have also been involved in a Team Research Group with the NCETM which has allowed me to better develop my understanding of ‘Mastery’ and then strengthen this at my school.

During my time as Head of Geography, I supported the development of the curriculum across KS1 and KS2 so that it was accessible and inclusive for pupils of all needs and abilities.I also worked with Year Leaders and Class Teachers to establish an infrastructure that supported the growth of Teacher's subject knowledge as well as the process of planning Geography effectively.

At EKC I wrote articles based on interviews that I conducted, events I attended or my own research. My work was published in a variety of trade magazines, online and was in some cases used in consumer publications.I regularly ghostwrote articles for a number of medical professionals and others who work within the industry (specialist lawyers, architects and IFAs), so had to adapt my style to suit the audience.Other duties that I carried out included liaising with clients, attending and reporting from conferences (this included photographing events), engaging with social media on behalf of my clients and prioritising my workload so as best to support the team I worked with.

At capita I worked in the accounts department providing administrative duties which included working with Microsoft Office as well as other Financial software including I90 and Magic.
