I love building new things, whether it’s new teams, tools, processes, products, or communities. Past teammates and managers have described me as a "swiss army knife" for fast-growing teams with big growth ambitions. Read more about me, my projects, and approach to solving problems at my website: https://willsonetc.comSome of my favorite things I’ve built:- a platform for homeowners with solar to access state-supported financial incentives- a nationwide delivery network for restaurants at Table22, where incentives are actually aligned such that drivers and restaurants both feel treated with respect- a Virginia-wide startup competition with Village Capital that highlighted and funded 25 entrepreneurs from Roanoke to Virginia Beach to Charlottesville- a national conference on innovation with the Tom Tom Foundation that connected small-city leaders from across the country to share best practices- a $1mm tech talent placement program with Forge that trained thousands of students and placed them in hundreds of impact-driven startupsMy biggest learning across all of these: the best ideas aren't worth *anything* if you don't have a team that's trained, inspired, bought-in, and understands its place and purpose. The areas and industries I know best are where teams, tech, and communities intersect:- Local economic development and supporting early-stage entrepreneurs- Early-stage tech recruiting + edtech - Large scale events and community buildingThings I look for in roles and teams:- I'm helping to build something ambitious- I’m learning something new about a tool, system, industry, or craft- I’m surrounded by people that are smarter than me- I’m teaching and helping people discover what they’re capable of- I have ownership over the success of a project- I get to build stuff with tech and in the real world simultaneouslyGet in touch!- Learn more about me at my website: https://willsonetc.com- Email me at daniel [at] willsonetc [dot] com.
