A violinist and MIS major with a diverse background, Daniel Worms is dedicated to using the expressive power of music to create an environment of community and euphoria at every concert venue, whether he’s performing for thousands at the Mexico City National Auditorium, or for a handful of children at a small town orphanage. He considers music education early in children’s lives is of utmost importance, regardless of whether they pursue a career in music or not. Mr. Daniel, as his students call him, has begun his journey as a Suzuki Method teacher and currently teaches at the local non-profit organization Tucson Youth Music Center, which provides music lessons free of charge to children from low-income families. Daniel has also participated in outreach programs and concerts at small town orphanages and for those affected by the devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Puebla, Mexico on September 19th, 2017. Daniel Worms not only teaches music, but has also performed in various classical ensembles including the Verbier Festival Music Camp, Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Ollin Yoliztli, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta de la Herrmanndad Musical y Cultural, Cuarteto Tempus, and the Agave Quartet. Concert venues have ranged from small recital halls, such as Holsclaw Hall, to the first-ranked acoustic hall in Latin America, Sala Nezahualcóyotl. He attributes his success as a violinist to his teachers: Sergei Gorbenko, Keiko Wataya, Jorge Risi, Julio Saldaña, and his current teacher, Timothy Kantor. Although Daniel is a classical violinist by training, he enjoys fusing his classical technique with improvisation to perform different styles of music at local restaurants and bars under the stage name Danny. He has performed a multitude of genres including: Indie Folk with Big Grin, romantic classics from the repertoire of the 50s with Half Full, Christmas jazz with the Villocino Trio, and a little bit of everything else with the Tucson-based collaboration known as T Greg & André. During his time off stage, Danny loves to travel! During an unforgettable backpacking experience through the rainforest of Chiapas, Mexico, Danny found his love for for street performing. A passing audience is the best way to meet locals and fellow travelers, it also helps keep the travel fund healthy!
