Reporting directly to the CEO and the VP of industrial design, I am responsible for much of the pre-production development of the EXO disaster relief shelter. Concept-to-production projects include: watertight electronics housings, interior shades, desks, freight & logistics strategy, interior fire-proofing, and others. On most tasks I have primary responsibility from brief through to factory floor. On more complex projects, I have learned and grown tremendously as a designer, by collaborating with top tier engineers, drafters, and builders. Led a team of creatives and developers to translate seasonal trends, research driven insights, and 40 years of brand heritage into the look and feel of every product, and packaging accross all categories (Snow, Skate, Bike, and Water)

I Received briefs and developed original concepts for Vans and Pro-tec brands. Responsibilities included rapid ideation sketching, problem solving, design research and trend analysis. Then following through to fine tuning graphics, colors & materials and manufacturing. Last but not least, my job (thankfully) included product testing.

Learned the tenets of product design with a business-based, real world perspective. Graduated with honors. Studies included a focus on personal transportation and design research. Participated in trans-disciplinary studio for Bernhardt Design, in which my team's product was chosen to go into production.

Performed the duties of on-board mechanic, aerial gunner, and load master. I served for a total of five years and in that time I acquired the rank of Sgt. I served two tours in Iraq and one in Kosovo. In country I participated in a wide range of combat and non-combat airborne operations. During my time in service, I learned skills that have served me well since: endurance, collaboration, leadership, self motivation and follow through.
