After more than 25 years working in academia as a practitioner, teacher, and clinical researcher, I'm excited to pivot my career toward technology and join the telehealth revolution. As a practicing psychiatrist, I've seen firsthand how mental illnesses can devastate individuals and families, and how challenging it can be for people to access good treatment. Despite the efforts of dedicated scientists who have developed highly effective treatments, stigma and a shortage of mental health providers prevent many people from getting the care they need.That's why I'm passionate about exploring the potential of new technologies to address these challenges. By leveraging the latest tools and platforms, we can bring the very best of mental health care to people in need, making it more affordable, accessible, and personal. I believe that now is the time for innovative solutions that will make obtaining outstanding mental health care as easy as reaching for your phone, and I'm excited to be part of this transformation.
