Led the architecting and rebuilding of ApartmentShowcase.com● Delivered a high-performing website, with a focus on speed and efficiency, utilizing a combination of front-end and back-end technologies such as Elasticsearch, mapbox-gl-js & Ruby on Rails 5.● Led Scrum meetings and worked closely with the product manager to prioritize tasks, resolve obstacles, and translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

Startup eCommerce website co-founded with Ryan McGeary and centered around selling products with payment plans. The application has since processed over one million dollars in payments.● Integrated the application with Stripe over StripeJS.● Engineered the process with Stripe to distribute payments over time.● Designed the Rails models and implemented with postgres.● Added OAuth 2.0 login to streamline security.

Originally I was hired as a part-time consultant to work on a front end search interface. Months later I was brought back on to redesign an older rails project. I was responsible for:● Upgrading Rails from 3 to 4.● Transporting a database from MySql to Postgres.● Redesigning relationships within the Postgres database.● Implementing JSONB fields in Postgres.● Moving tests from RSpec to Minitest.● Rebuilding models with validations and implementing Test Driven Development.● Replacing front end ActiveAdmin DSL views with Haml.● Replacing ActiveAdmin controllers with standard Rails Controllers.

I was contracted to work on MyLights. MyLights allows people to quickly tag events or highlights in different sports.

I was one of two to be permanently hired from a pool of over one hundred applicants. Over forty applicants were interviewed. My boss and mentor was Ryan McGeary (LMGTFY co-founder). He is well known in the Ruby on Rails community. I primarily worked on basic features for the BusyConf website during my internship. My internship was over two summers, the first starting right before I went to college at CNU.● Studied and developed with Ruby on Rails, Javascript Ajax, REST, webhooks, and database migrations.● Introduced to Test Driven Development (TDD). I now apply this principle to my code.● Designed, built, and implemented an Arduino project. Wrote code in C++, wired & drafted logic board.
