Senior Software EngineerRedmart Mar 2015 - May 2016Singapore, Singapore, SgI was part of Marketplace team, which transformed RedMart from grocery into everything store. With a team of 5, our primary focus was to expand the product selection range. For the first 9 months of the project, we made a partnership with 205 stores and added 12000+ marketplace products, which, along with 10000 in-house products, made us the biggest grocery trading platform in Singapore.I was also a quality gate on front-end for 8 development teams. I set up code change policies (GitHub flow, code review, code conventions), and ensured their execution. I was conducting training sessions on the importance of automated testing for the teams (Unit Tests, End to End, CI/CD). And as joined effort, we shifted the percentage of automated tests on front-end from 0 to 24% across the organization (90+% coverage in projects under active development, 0 in stale phase). We also added a layer of automated acceptance and regression tests (Selenium Webdriver + Protractor). Being inspired by Material Design, I built a set of components which became our Pattern Library. It got used across our applications which increased the development dynamics and have led applications towards more consistent UI and better user experience. Check it out here.I was actively advocating Agile Software Development, organized and lead our internal agile community. We regularly organized meet-ups where we shared our experiences.Tech stack is AngularJS, Scala, Java and NodeJS (microservices architecture). -
Software EngineerD Square N.V. Apr 2013 - Mar 2015Hasselt, Limburg, BeI was working on two projects at Dsquare, namely HPS and M2IS.Technological stack of HPS is AngularJS & D3.js on a frontend and Clojure on a backend. We use Apache Flex and Java for M2IS. Drivers to external software are written with .NET. MySQL and CouchDB are used as databases. We do not follow the practice of division of developers on frontend and backend since spreading knowledge and possibility for everyone to work on any part of the application is a part of our corporate culture. I appreciate this approach since it allows me to improve my skills in various areas.During last year I was focused on AngularJS and D3.js. It is of more interest for me to work on data visualisation and frontend application design. -
