This project is collaboration between University of California, and members of Utrish Marine Station.I was international research intern of marine mammal’s physiology international research project. Study physiology of fur seals sleep; cognitive functions in seals sleep deficit; and the impact of anthropogenic noise (seismic survey, sonar and shipping noise) on physiological parameters of belugas (heart rate, breath, cortisol level in fecal and blood), and changes of their behavior.Сhief of the project: Oleg Lyamin (olyamin@ucla.edu)Responsibilities: • Maintenance and care of experimental animals.• Video recording of animal’s behavior.• Train fur seals and belugas to prepare them to test their attention, cognitive, psycho-physiological test of hearing.• Reporting during research.• Planning and conducting experiments on the effects of noise on beluga.• Procedures with animals: taking blood and clyster, installation of sensors.• Collection and processing of respiration, electrocardiogram and behavior data.• Maintain daily protocol experiments.• Organization of student during experiments.
