I’m currently searching for opportunities in the criminal justice field. I took a minor detour over the years to focus on another job. My heart is truly with criminal justice. I have a passion for law and the enforcement of it. I believe the world can be a better place with a proper system and the proper professionals. I previously worked at a work furlough location where I picked up the majority of my skills. I had the opportunity to work with men and women offenders, both county and federal. As a monitor I assisted in the daily operations of the facility. I checked all offenders in and out of the facility. Upon re-entry the offenders were pat down and given a breathalyzer test. Some were randomly chosen to be drug tested which I also had to conduct. I had to perform several facility head counts through out the day to continuously keep track of all the offenders in the facility as well as the ones that were out for the day (working/ school etc). my coworkers and I conducted several facility searches for contraband, wrote incident reports and kept logs of all actions taken place. I patrolled the facility hourly at random times and had to enforce rules to those I witnessed breaking them. There was constantly suspicious activity taking place because I dealt with people with substance abuse issues and others that suffered from mental issues. I constantly had to investigate controlled substances making it into the facility. I had to watch video footage of things that were caught on camera. I left this position for a different path I thought would suit me more. My heart is in criminal justice I’m eager to start again and make a difference.
