I am a determined individual in my second year pursuing a Business Marketing certificate through Fanshawe College. After working in food and retail for 14 years, I wanted to understand business creation and ownership better. I have always been intrigued by human behavior, which specifically drew me to marketing after learning about the impact of marketing and advertising on people’s purchasing decisions. This past summer, I worked as a communications trainee with a rural government agency, assisting with event promotion, crafting advertising campaigns, shooting engaging social media content, email communications, and more. The dynamic nature of this role further fueled my enthusiasm for business marketing.During my summer placement, I got the chance to exercise my creative abilities. I had the privilege to witness firsthand the impact that a strategic communication plan can have on community engagement. My favorite project was creating a media campaign for a 300-person event. It was the first big project that allowed me to apply critical thinking and exercise the skills I have learned up to this point. These hands-on experiences deepened my understanding of marketing and equipped me with practical skills and insight for my journey ahead.I enjoy taking pictures in my spare time and want to do more visual storytelling. I envision helping others creatively bring their visions to life and display them in a way that is meaningful to them through photography and online content creation.
