Danilo is an Assistant Professor at the Engineering Department of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) and is a founder of the Mobility Edge AI (https://www.mobilityedge.ai/). At UFLA he worked as a Post-PhD researcher at the Terrestrial Mobility Lab. He was a temporary professor/researcher at the University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC), as a Heudiasyc laboratory/CNRS UMR 7253 member in Compiègne, France. He performed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering with a specialization in Information Technologies and Systems between May 2012 and June 2015, where he developed a navigation system for an intelligent electric car-like robot. He recently worked at Invent Vision Sistemas de Imagem e Visão, where he developed systems based on computer vision for industrial applications. He has a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in Computer Vision and Robotics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2010), where he has developed a control system and obstacle avoidance for a car-like robot. He graduated in Engineering of Control and Automation from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2008) and a Bachelor of Music with guitar qualification from the State University of Minas Gerais (2009). His expertise is Robotics, Computer Vision, and Industrial Automation, acting on the following topics: robot navigation, obstacle detection, measurement instruments reading, multi-cameras calibration, 3D reconstruction, and stereo vision.
