ESA Network Technical Officer with the following responsibilities:- Ensuring that the procurement process, in particular every review milestone, is carried out in accordance with the element SOW and any specific rules defined in agreed GCS Prime “Organizational Notes”- Ensuring from a technical point of view that the element is correctly implemented, tested, delivered and verified, such that it is acceptable for integration into the GCS and meets the overall ESA requirements.- Resolving directly with the GCS Prime all minor technical and programmatic problems, including the management of Evolution Maintenance Requests, covering enhancements requested by the Operations team.- Participating actively in the Networks Change Request and Anomaly Review Boards.- Analysing any major technical and programmatic problem having cost and schedule impact.- In all activities, maintain a constant awareness of the cost and schedule impact of any decisions made, carefully trading off the benefits to the mission against any possible delays and additional costs.- Supporting the other segments (space, operations, GMS, Security) for the provision of expertise related to GCS interfaces and functionality for the topics related to Networks and cybersecurity;- Interactions with other the Galileo Segments: Maintenance of efficient interfaces with other disciplines in the Project, in particular with System Engineering, ESA SO and Operations for the Network related topics.- Supporting the the G2G activities related to the GCS aspects and extended to other areas as required- Supporting the SIV team to review of system integration test procedures, test data, RVMs, VCDs and the provision of GCS interface verification status information

• To interface GSA, ESA and Network providers (TPZ/GDDN, AD&S/SDDN and TAS-F/MDDN ) on any Galileo LAN/WAN related technical issue and to coordinate and harmonize inputs/contributions from all GSOP teams on NW related topics• To follow-up the deployment planning and scheduling of all GDDN and Segment NW assets analyzing impacts to operations activities.• To manage all GDDN engineering and deployment activities and related reporting, and to coordinate GDDN Site Acceptance and Network Acceptance Reviews• To support all Network ops processes, ARBs, CCBs providing coordination across all Ops teams on issues/changes, supporting information transfer to ESA/Segment, supporting CCR implementation planning and follow-on fix/change validations, including status of expected level-2/3 fixes affecting mission services and associated incidents as well as related troubleshooting activities.• To support the coordination of the local GCC network ops teams, ensuring harmonization of an integrated MDDN, SDDN and GDDN ops concept definition, processes implementation, procedures development and validation and documentation organization and development across GCC sites and teams (GfR, TPZ)• To identify and follow-up cross-GCC NW operations and security engineering improvements and injects input into the GDDN/GCS/GMS/System OID documents and meetings• To support Segments/System/Ops Formal Reviews/Boards and coordinate accordingly GSOp inputs and contributions on the topic of E2E NW• To propose Network troubleshooting activities for incidents/anomalies that might impact the service. To produce technical notes, plans, reports and other documentation as required plus regular activities status reports (e.g. monthly report)• To report the progress of the anomaly resolution, providing inputs to the incident reports and propose plan for risk mitigation.• To support the implementation and maintenance of the workaround database related to NW troubleshooting activities.

• Coordinate the activities necessary to identify, classify, and mitigate any GDDN related incident, and to restore as quickly as possible the Galileo service with the least possible impact.• Contribute to the GDDN design by providing technical solutions and the required operations inputs for the definition of the data network concept (VSAT and terrestrial)• Configure and control the GDDN equipment, including network monitoring solutions, of the Galileo infrastructure (Firewalls, VPN, switch, router, and VSAT equipment’s)• Organize the operations and any kind of maintenance in the GDDN and ensure end-to-end communication systems of the Galileo Ground Segments in close coordination with the third party providers (if necessary)• Analyse and correlate events to ensure that threats occurring over an extended period of time have a better chance of being detected• Analyse the data coming from the (BT)NMS+ in order to predict possible threats or understand the root cause of an incident or a failure in the GDDN• Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings summarizing GDDN related observations reports and/or anomaly reports, Ops/Sec Log, scheduled activities• Provide technical documentation to clarify anomalies or the behaviour of the GDDN• Ensure that the GDDN is compliant with the project requirements and follow the progress of the implementation of new requirements, monitor the anomalies resolution, and evaluate the service performance• Provide internal reports on the GDDN Satellite network in terms of capabilities, coverage, benefits, problematics and limitations
