As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), I am responsible for overseeing the Third Bipole project, 1,500 km high-voltage direct current (±800 kV HVDC), this SPE was nominated as GATE. This project entails linking the Graça Aranha Substation in Maranhão with the Silvânia Substation in Goiás. My role encompasses the management of all aspects related to the implementation of 1,500 km transmission lines involved. The primary objective of this endeavor is to safely transmit renewable energy—sourced from wind and solar farms in northeastern Brazil—to the major consumption centers in southeastern Brazil. The scope of this project covers every phase of implementation, starting from the Basic Design through to full energization. This includes executive design, material procurement, testing and installation, civil engineering, site work, and comprehensive commissioning of the 800kV HVDC.

Currently, I serve as the Director of the Engineering, Technical Standards Division, as well as CEO of SGSE, a subsidiary of State Grid Brazil. Lead the Engineering Division, managing technical support for over 15,000 km of transmission lines and 63 substations across Brazil, handling both Brownfield and Greenfield projects. In the Technical Standards Division, I ensure compliance with internal, Brazilian, and international guidelines and foster innovation through collaboration with China, resulting in ISO 9001 certification for Engineering Processes and ISO 56002 for Innovation Management. As CEO of SGSE, I lead strategic engineering services for State Grid Brazil’s assets and oversee Research and Development (R&D) projects with an annual investment of BRL 14 million, enhancing knowledge exchange and technological advancements between Brazil and China.

I was a Transmission Line Manager, overseeing the construction of the world’s largest transmission line, a 2,534 km direct current (±800 kV HVDC) system connecting the Belo Monte power plant to Rio de Janeiro. In this role, I coordinated a complex operation involving multiple EPC contracts, international supply chain management, stakeholder and regulatory interactions, and led a workforce of over 14,000 employees to ensure project success.

Isolux Corsán is a globally recognized Spanish company in the fields of concessions, energy, construction, and industrial services, with over 80 years of operation. Headquartered in Madrid, Spain, it operates in over 40 countries across four continents. In my last role as Project Director, I was responsible for overseeing the construction of high-voltage transmission lines, including cost management, planning, execution, and all administrative and financial aspects. One of the major projects I managed was the Amazonas Project, spanning over 1,800 km with one of the world's largest river crossings, at 2 km. My responsibilities included coordinating material-related tasks such as technical specifications analysis, budgeting, supplier negotiations, project approvals, and supervising the inspection and testing of materials, including conductor cables, OPGW cables, damping systems, and signaling. I also monitored complex electrical tests such as RIV/Corona, power arc, vibration, and cyclic load tests conducted in laboratories in Brazil, China, the USA, Canada, Argentina, Hungary, and Italy. Additionally, I managed the Bill of Materials (BOM) and developed new supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with technical standards and efficiency throughout all project phases.

The industrial group, located in Jacareí – SP, has a wide range of strategic business units, including the manufacturing of metal structures, hardware, transmission line and substation construction, telecommunications, and power generation. In my last role as a Transmission Line Specialist Engineer, I was responsible for managing all phases of hardware projects for transmission line insulator assemblies, including the design of forged, cast, and machined components. I developed devices for mechanical testing and managed all technical documentation, such as Bill of Materials (BOM), planning, timelines, manufacturing, and execution. I also conducted technical inspections of foundries, forges, and hardware companies in Brazil and Argentina, with in-depth knowledge of relevant technical standards, including ANSI, ASME, ASTM, IEC, ISO, NBR, NEMA, and SAE. I managed engineering projects using ERP systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards and operational efficiency throughout all project stages.
