First and foremost, I love human interaction. It's fantastic to meet such diverse patients and contribute to improving their lives through medical research. In my experience in clinical environments, I realized research is not a "job" or a "project"; it's a social mission to provide the best care and accurate information for the improvement of a patient's health.Currently, I am the Clinical Research Manager within the Peripheral division at Shockwave Medical, a medical device company creating new technology in the intravascular lithotripsy sector. I am the manager of multiple global clinical studies both IDE and post-market analysis. In my role, I perform project management activities (hiring, budget negotiation, creating accurate timelines, clinical study report writing, protocol development, marketing logistics, troubleshooting site enrollment), oversight of multiple vendors (CRO, mobile labs, core labs) and maintain EU and US regulatory compliance while maintaining alignment with the business needs of Shockwave Medical.I previously worked at a clinical research start-up company called Curative as a Clinical Research Manager. As a manager, I helped build studies from an idea to a functioning clinical research trial. I have consulted on a variety of research protocols in short-term and long-term COVID, smoking and weight loss studies, assay development, IDEs, monkeypox and other contagious agents. I used to work at UCSF Mount Zion in Neurology Surgical and Movement Disorder clinic with Parkinson's Disease patients. I managed regulatory (IRB, regulatory binders, protocol revisions, etc) and clinical (patient visits, consenting, brain mapping) for drug and device trials primarily focused on deep brain stimulation and microbiome impact on Parkinson's disease medication absorption. In addition, I worked at the Veteran Affairs Medical Hospital in San Diego, CA primarily focused in congestive heart failure. My duties were split into 3 main tasks: completing patient screens in the ER, taking patient medical histories after they were consented, and performing lab analysis of collected samples (blood, urine, etc.) for the study.
