At the Centre for Microbial Ecology and Technology (CMET), we developed a methane biofilter for agricultural facilities. I was in charge of the reactor design and laboratory experiments. I started this endeavor with the process optimization at laboratory scale, followed by bench scale development of the technology and a field test in collaboration with ILVO - Flanders. Besides obtaining a M.Sc. degree, this engineering project resulted in 2 peer-reviewed publications.

Gained insights in the selection of raw materials, aseptic conditions, fermentation equipment and quality control for beer production.
