Project Manager for the Galileo MSF programme, consisting of the Galileo Mission Support Facility and Experimental Off-Line Analysis Tools.

In charge of new business opportunities in the field of space and satellite communications for the Iberian peninsula. Also in charge of exploring new commercial applications based on satellite navigation technology. As such, I initiated a pan-European initiative to develop a hybrid technological platform for advanced LBS applications.

Established the project office for LogicaCMG’s key initiative in satellite navigation: Phase C0 of the Galileo Ground Mission Segment and Ground Control Segment. I supported the resourcing of over 40 staff and established the guidelines for most project procedures.

During my tenure, the Space & Satcoms unit of LogicaCMG managed over 150 engineers in 45 active projects covering satellite navigation, civil satellite communications, Earth Observation, meteorology, and space mission systems. My role was to support the Business Director in the day-to-day technical management of bids, projects and resources for the nit. As such, it involved supporting and contributing to the production of high-quality proposals for clients such as the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission, EUMETSAT and INMARSAT; controlling the technical performance of on-going projects; allocating manpower resources to the various initiatives; and tracking and forecasting the financial progress of the unit.

Member of the management team for the European Global Navigation Overlay System (EGNOS) Check Set project. Tasks performed:- Ensuring that the software development process and hardware procurement is of the highest quality without jeopardising the schedule and budget constraints of the project.- Producing and enforcing the CM Plan, and reporting on the status of Configuration Items.- Overall project procurement and interaction with suppliers.

Provided systems engineering support to NASA’s Earth Sciences Program Office.

Performed a variety of engineering tasks in support of ESA’s microgravity research laboratories for the Columbus module of the International Space Station.
