Danita Walker is a Safety Manager at Teknor Apex Company. One of the things she was able to accomplish was to create a safety culture for the plant, this was done by daily meetings with the plant manager, root cause analysis meetings on every injury or near miss, developing safety committees that had high participation and were driven by the Associates and developing an audit schedule that was done by area managers. She also developed a program for environmental compliance. A highlight to this effort was a third-party audit that was found the plant in compliance and a storm water audit by the state of Tennessee, where they offered a preferred status for the plant. Danita is very dedicated and loyal to her profession and spent many hours above and beyond her normal work hours to develop reports, programs and to ensure the safety culture of the plant was improving. One of Danita's greatest strengths is how she cares for people as she would go the extra mile to ensure their needs were met.
