In addition to my role as a service delivery lead, I oversee a talented team of five UX designers who staff a wide variety of projects. My responsibilities include conducting design reviews, fostering collaboration, and providing hands-on support in conceptual work, research, and deliverables. I also handle administrative duties to ensure smooth team operations. Additionally, I collaborate with managers and the UX director on strategic initiatives, guiding staffing decisions, supporting hiring efforts, and engaging with customers. I actively participate in higher-level client project discussions and resourcing meetings with the executive team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Working with clients including Thermo Fisher, L3Harris, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, BAE, and the U.S. Space Force, I lead and foster the design process, ensuring that both customer and user needs are met through research, iterative studies, and collaborative explorations. Along the way to refining deliverables, I also identify opportunities to contribute to our in-house design system (Astro UXDS), ensure that my teammates' workload is manageable, and maintain transparency with work partners.

Having led all design endeavors internally for ISAC and externally for our state agency clients, I helped to create and improve Android, iOS, cross-platform, and responsive web applications. In my tenure, I introduced a “full-stack” UX approach to the IT team, encompassing research, strategy and design execution. I collaborated closely with stakeholders, developers, lead architects and data scientists throughout the process.

Amidst a surge of public awareness of virtual reality, I became proficiency in Unity, C# and Sketchup in order to create a collection of VR fitness-centric games.

I worked in concert with the UX Director, PM and developers on next-gen features for company’s flagship product, the Digital Exam Room Wallboard. This TV-sized Android-based system enables doctors to illustrate medical conditions and review diagnostic imagery with patients. Our work received a 2016 Chicago Innovation Award.

I served as an in-house experience design consultant for claims-related projects and provided on-demand user experience related consulting services (conceptual wireframes, heuristic evaluations, usability, etc.) to departments lacking permanent UX resources.

On the government client side, I collaborated with stakeholders within Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Air Force to modernize three critical USAF management systems: support vehicle management, equipment repair logistics, and personnel promotion. These overhauls introduced a host of new data visualization tools and user-optimized workflow that ultimately led to advanced fleet right-sizing capabilities, more efficient repair network operations, and quicker implementation of command structure changes.For private sector clients, which included Motorola Solutions and Healthways, my design efforts yielded improved usability in an electronic licensing process for networking hardware as well as an enhanced user experience for wellness portal visitors.

I helped guide the company’s transition into the digital space by spearheading design projects geared toward consumer and enterprise web/mobile/PC applications. Highlights included GPS apps, trip planning tools, and truck routing software.

Working collaboratively with engineering, software, marketing, research, and graphic design teams, I helped to create a broad array of next-generation features for mobile phones (e.g. social music, video telephony and file management).
