- Pattern Matching Algorithm and Application- Approached by International Business Machines Corporation, IBM, to design and develop pattern matching algorithm for a mission critical project- Coordinated meetings between IBM representatives and advisors to understand the problem and develop a project plan- Designed an algorithm to find every occurrence of a given device within a VLSI layout- Implemented two instances of the algorithm; one in C++ and one in Java- Collaborated with a team of software engineers, mathematicians, and IBM consultants to refine runtimes and analyze results- Published work as first the algorithm to accomplish results in polynomial time; all previous algorithms operated in exponential time
