With more than 45 years' experience, first as a prosecutor, and then in a long career at Kroll Associates, I now work independently with clients, advising on business risks, internal investigations, and on evaluating acquisitions in the investigations and due diligence industry. My work at Kroll comprised major fraud investigations, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), litigation support, contests for corporate control, Internet crimes, financial crimes, asset searches, product counterfeiting and due diligence. I joined Kroll in 1983 as General Counsel, when the company had 12 employees. I retired from Kroll in 2018 as Chairman, Americas and New York Office Head, with the firm then at more than 2000 professionals around the world. I worked and traveled extensively in North and South America, Europe and Asia, and opened Kroll's offices in London, Philadelphia and Boston. I have served as a Continuing Legal Education instructor, and as chair, panelist and subject matter expert at more than 100 professional conferences, and have been interviewed frequently on cable, network and radio broadcasts on a wide variety of issues. I have lectured on business crimes and conducting investigations at classes at Fordham University Law School, and at Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci and Financia Business School, located in Paris.Prior to joining Kroll, I was General Counsel and Assistant Commissioner of the New York City Department of Investigation. I previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York, where I was Chief of Narcotics Investigations.I maintain my active status as a member of the New York bar and have served for many years on committees of the New York City Bar Association. I am also engaged in volunteer work in my community of Mamaroneck, New York. From 2020 - 2021, I served as chair of an Ad Hoc Committee to revise the Code of Ethics of Mamaroneck, delivering to the village Board of Trustees a revised and annotated statute. I am now Chair of the Mamaroneck Ethics Board. Oh, and I was a Jeopardy champion in 1992.
