I have also produced radio series for the public that aired nationwide and have hosted nationwide call-in science shows. I have produced a podcast series on multiple sclerosis and currently produce one on Parkinson's disease for patients.I regularly participate in continuing education activities in both science and journalism through attendance at scientific conferences, symposia for journalists, and specifically, for medical writers.Before leaving the laboratory to pursue a career in medical journalism, I did research in the areas of immunology, microbiology, hematology, and neuroendocrinology.
