I oversee the delivery of what we call our Digital Roadmap: a multi-year, multimillion-dollar program that will genuinely transform the way our business operates and how our people work across our facilities. Some of my key responsibilities are:- Develop business cases for and manage projects within Kotzur's Digital Roadmap.- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elicit requirements and conduct gap analyses.- Report program progress and introduce/improve project and program management practices.- Continuously evaluate implemented solutions to ensure they are improving and meeting business needs.

Placed within the Institute's Project Management Office, my role as ICT Project Manager requires me to:- Manage approved projects using all required elements of the Institute’s accepted Project Management methodologies - largely and primarily, PRINCE2 - to ensure consistency throughout projects delivered;- Coach and mentor project participants as required, to ensure the successful completion of allocated tasks and projects within any identified tolerances;- Develop and maintain relationships with assigned organisation divisions as part of ICT's Business Partner program;- Undertake investigative business analysis within projects, to identify and implement strategies that will address the Institute's continuous improvement goals, and;- Facilitate business process mapping activities for Institute operations not yet mapped or undergoing change, which may include the review, development and implementation of change processes.This role has required me to transfer and apply skills from my previous role of Solutions Analyst. For this reason, I am exposed to a range of project management and business analysis activities - a powerful and practical combination.

I am passionate about helping young people to identify and follow a meaningful pathway to employment.When the opportunity to undertake a secondment and job-sharing role within Wodonga TAFE's Community and Industry Engagement group presented itself ,I had to take it.The key responsibilities of the School Engagement role are:- Develop and coordinate the implementation of the Institute’s Schools and Youth Engagement Model.- Build and maintain effective relationship management strategies with secondary schools, students, parents and key external stakeholders to increase student enrolments in-line with the Institute’s delivery strategy.- Be the constant point of contact in schools and external stakeholders to assist with analysing potential programs and initiatives to benefit the students and the Institute.- Lead and project manage the successful implementation of approved programs in secondary schools with key stakeholders.I am appreciative of the existing School and Youth Engagement for being willing to help mentor me into the role.

My role as Solutions Analyst is centered around partnering with business units across the Institute to contribute to the establishment of the technical vision for the development and implementation of business processes and systems. I am also responsible for the end-to-end review of assigned business processes to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and, assist project managers on larger, more complex projects related to business functions.My key responsibilities include:- Partnering with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements, develop and recommend solutions, create specifications and design solution architecture within agreed budget, timeframe and quality standards.- Facilitating business process mapping activities including the review, development, and implementation of change processes to meet business objectives and long term operational strategies.- Coordinating and performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems and other post-implementation support to ensure that business systems perform to their optimum.- Investigating emerging technologies and methods and identify opportunities for their use that will solve problems, increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility and enhance services. This also involves providing recommendations about the feasibility and suitability of proposed solutions to optimise business performance.- Documenting and maintaining the organisation’s existing solutions architecture and technology portfolio making recommendations for improvements or alternatives.- Assisting the Team Leader, IT Business Solutions to deliver high profile transformational business changes including allocated projects and project tasks within the Institute’s recognised project management framework.

I undertook a secondment into the Institute's Infrastructure team as Network Administrator in the absence of a colleague.While in this role, my key responsibilities were to:- Monitor and maintain virtual server environments, Active Directory, remote access technologies, and mail servers;- Ensure the availability of WAN services, specifically thin client delivery, remote access technologies including SSL VPN, mobile data services, and security;- Provide Cisco hardware and IOS administration and configuration across local and remote sites including core infrastructure, edge switching, VPN and remote access devices;- Deployment, installation, and configuration of corporate applications and hosting platforms;- Provide recommendations and consultancy on information systems, services, and teaching technologies to improve efficiency and competency of delivery.I enjoyed working with the technologies I assist in supporting from my role as Desktop Engineer in a new way, and was able to bring knowledge back to the team when the secondment ended.

Wodonga TAFE's Desktop Engineering team is responsible for providing ICT customer service, technical support and user access to highly available information systems for all staff and students within the Institute.My role as Desktop Engineer required me to:- Maintain excellence in customer service, a respectful and inclusive attitude to diversity, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement, to support Wodonga TAFE's strategic growth and development;- Provide effective and efficient technical service on end user hardware and software;- Maintain hardware and software SOEs with reference to the Institute's and industry standards to ensure a stable and consistent environment for staff and students;- Provide sound and responsible technical advice to other team members to allow efficient and effective ICT service to staff and students;- Provide sound input into the technical direction of the Institute to assist in the consistent development of support services provided by ICT.Education is incredibly important to me - and I have a strong, personal connection to TAFE. The opportunity to be part of an organisation that provides people with critical skills and knowledge is very humbling.

I was responsible for managing the performance of service support to clients (both internal and external), ensuring that service levels were achieved, and that customer expectations were met or exceeded.My key responsibilities included:- Overseeing all requests, incidents and problems collected by the Service Desk.- Managing and coordinating urgent and complicated support issues, acting as an escalation point for all requests and incidents, and assigning of tasks to both levels 1 and 2 of my team's support staff.- Training, coaching, and mentoring Service Desk Specialists including their career development.- Reporting of weekly and monthly Help Desk performance.- Ensuring staff are meeting expectations in regards to defined metrics/benchmarks, and that standards and processes are followed to provide effective customer service. - Ensuring knowledge base documentation of sufficient quality is being generated for all support staff.

I was part of the team that provides support for Rivalea Australia's IT infrastructure environment. Rivalea has several offices that stretch from Sydney to Melbourne, with approximately a dozen or so in between. Head Office is located in Corowa, New South Wales.My primary responsibilities were to:- Provide high-level customer service and basic technical support via phone and/or email;- Document and record contact made with the Service Desk and IT department into the ITSM system;- Troubleshoot issues and advise employees on appropriate actions, or delegate within the team;- Assist with the provisioning and support of end-user devices;- Create and maintain knowledge base articles.I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to lead the Service Desk team after working in this role for three and-a-half years.

Tier 1 Technology was a project of mine which aimed to provide flexible and affordable IT Support to both residential and commercial clients. Our team took a service-oriented approach to the way we deliver value.After operating alone for two years, I partnered with a mobile device repair technician in my immediate area. The skills and client base he brought to the table allowed me to expose Tier 1 Technology to a wealth of new customers.Our vision was to provide a network of support offered by a diverse range of individuals, each bringing their own unique skills. Although we have stopped pursuing this vision, I am open to revisiting this idea in the future.

Yarrawonga, Victroria.

I was fortunate enough to be awarded an AFL Sportsready Traineeship in Information Technology. My host employer was Sacred Heart Primary School in Yarrawonga, Victoria, where for two years I gained practical experience and obtained Certificates III and IV in Information Technology.My work at Sacred Heart was primarily based around the injection of the 1:1 Laptop Initiative. As of 2011, students in years 5 and 6 each received a MacBook to aid in their studies. My role, in regards to this initiative, was to provide support for each of the students and staff members, and investigate (as well as troubleshoot) any issues that may arise.I worked across two sites: The first site is home to students in years prep, one and two. The second site houses students in years three, four, five and six.Other duties I undertook at Sacred Heart included basic website and server administration, and this provided me with an introduction to systems administration.
