Working with students in the Bachelor of Creative Industries, as part of the Creative Enterprise Studio 1 (KKB185) academic team, I teach design thinking and creative enterprise skills.I lead tutorials and translate lecture material for a diverse student cohort undertaking majors including Media and communications; Interactive and visual design; Screen content production; Music and sound; Creative and professional writing; and Fashion communication.And, I support students’ growth through mentorship.

Generating ideas proactively, I develop creative concepts and engagement strategies to meet clients’ strategic objectives. I undertake extensive research to prepare for and conduct interviews for multiple purposes including marketing, communication and teaching.Design and deliver professional development training and community of practice workshops for diverse audiences.And I establish and nurture positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and collaborators.

As a part of the academic team teaching Griffith Film School’s intensive subject Industry Engagement (2702GFS), I developed and delivered original lecture content on creativity and entrepreneurship. And provided academic supervision and professional mentorship for multiple student groups working with real clients to produce and deliver professional video projects within Griffith Film School’s LiveLab.Here’s what my students said: “Dan has been one of my favourite tutors of the film degree so far. It was my role to work within the Digital Creative team and lead the production of video content. To collaborate with a range of stakeholders including marketing managers, media and communications professionals, and university leadership to create engaging content for diverse audiences including prospective and current students, industry and government, and philanthropic audiences.Work with the institution’s partners, including Optus and Cisco, to co-produce content. And work with external agencies, including the university’s creative agency and video production companies, to both oversee and provide creative direction for externally produced content.Prepare, write and present periodic engagement reports, including performance analysis across social media and distribution channels.Supervise and mentor casual staff, including students.

Produce video content to support learning and teaching, including course material and online learning, such as online lectures and seminars.Produce video content to support academic staff, including academic mentoring series for junior academics and researchers.Provide postproduction support to academics including video editing of academic generated content for teaching and research.Provide production and postproduction consultation for RMIT students, including training in the use of camera and lighting, providing overview of postproduction software.Manage camera and lighting equipment including inventory audit and maintenance.

Responsible to lead a team of five audiovisual operators across three campuses including Nathan, Mt Gravatt and South Bank.Videography and audio recording of speeches, presentations and lectures.Coordinate audio visual support strategy and objectives accross five campuses, including the delivery of video and audio production services to a range of university clients including executive, professional and academic staff, and students.Manage the routine maintenance and support of audiovisual equipment including basic repairs.
